Microsoft recently unveils its pink Surface Laptop 2 that will only be sold in China. Surface chief Panos Panay unveiled the new Blush color in Beijing, noting that the finish was developed exclusively for China. The new color variant follows Microsoft’s original Surface Laptop 2 announcement earlier this month, with a new black finish available worldwide
The Surface Laptop 2, is equipped with 8th Gen Intel processors and other general hardware refinements more RAM in the base models, and is aimed at being 85 percent faster than the original model.
Also the low-key refresh keeps the device relevant going into 2019.
Microsoft has largely kept the design identical to the original Surface Laptop, and has controversially opted not to include modern USB-C ports.
It’s not clear why Microsoft is limiting its new Blush variant to China, but pink and gold colored gadgets have become popular across the country.
Pre orders for the Surface Laptop 2 in Blush are now live for China at JD.com (via The Verge). Store listings indicate this finish is limited to the mid range Core i5, 8GB RAM, 256 GB model, retailing for ￥9988 (around $1,450)
