IT is Everywhere

In digital world, digital literacy is an essential survival skill.  Before now, the information and technology era, people are so concerned about what the government will do for us, and what the government has not done for us, and we all, optimistically believed every word from our governmental agencies and this has hindered so many economy, in breaking free, but since the arrival of an online information and technology, in our society, innovative platforms, has being built to break boundaries.we all know that It’s being quite long since the world of business continues to reap the benefits of technology. While the productivity of businesses may have once been hindered and slowed down, now technologies such as cloud computing, mobile technology, internet portals, business intelligence, and databases eradicate any boundary of limitations.
And now better and more reliable businesses have come into existence, because, technology has come to make a huge impart and difference, to the way business owners operates, and how staffs are enabled to carry out tasks.

Not only that “IT” is keeping us in track, with information and technology but it has also come to help us, in speeding up processes, and allowing flexible new ways of working, and also to transform how your business functions, so that you will often save both time, human capital, and money.

In a research carried out lately, 70% of business owners, have being able to maximized their profits since they engaged in IT facilities. Job openings has also increased for experts and interns in the IT industry.
Applications of IT.
Educational sector: The adventure in Information Technology has changed the meaning of the term “literate”, with computer literacy being almost as important as basic literacy in many cases. Computer education is an essential course at the primary level in most schools across the world. With more information getting digitized every day, and the internet making it accessible to anyone across the world, students are increasingly relying on electronic sources of information rather than physical libraries for their needs. Instructional methodology has also undergone a sea change with use of images, animations, videos, presentations and e-learning to complement traditional techniques.

The compTIA provides foundation-level knowledge and skill necessary for a career in PC troubleshooting, problem solving and support.

Administrations: One of the first and largest applications of computers is keeping and managing business and financial records. Most of all these large organizations, keeps their employees data in large databases that are managed by computer programs. Similar programs and databases are used in business functions like billing customers; tracking payments received and payments to be made; and tracking supplies needed and items produced, stored, shipped, and sold. In fact, practically all the information companies need to do business involves the use of computers and Information Technology. Almost all the financial transactions in the world are done electronically. Newer technologies like m-commerce have enabled almost everybody to carry out routine financial transactions on the move.
Fund Assessments:  On a smaller scale, many businesses have replaced cash registers with point-of-sale (POS) terminals. These POS terminals not only print a sales receipt for the customer but also send information to a computer database when each item is sold to maintain an inventory of items on hand and items to be ordered allowing a cashless economy. Also improving easy cash withdrawal and fund transfers using these automated and programmed machines.

Governance: The idea of electronic-governance is one of the most formidable applications of Information Technology whereby it is changing the lives of millions across the globe. Computerization of Government activities makes it easier to supervise and audit, and makes the administration more responsive to the needs of society. It has also bridge the division, between the Government and the people. Technologies like touch-screen kiosks help disseminate information on land records, photo identity cards, pending bills etc. and enable even illiterate people to take more informed decisions. Today we have internet security devices such as IP cameras and devices that monitor and records activities in critical areas.
Media and entertainment:IT has changed the way lifestyle is being projected, in the media cum entertainment industry. The convergence of various technologies at the global focal point has created various options for entertainment like projections, games, streaming music and video, digital television broadcasts, satellite radio, animated movies, such as cover screens etc. which can be accessed with the help of mobile phones, PDAs, notebook computers or on television either with a cable connection or wirelessly using newer-generation WiFi, CDMA or GPRS technologies.
Medical and Health centers Facilities: Information Technology plays a vital role in diagnosing patients. For instant, a scanner takes a series of pictures of the body by means of computerized axial tomography (CAT) or magnetic resonance imaging (MRI). The computer then, combines the pictures to produce detailed three-dimensional images of the body’s organs. In addition, the MRI produces images that show changes in body chemistry and blood flow. Most critical life support equipment are programmed to respond to changes in the patient’s status in split-seconds, thereby reducing the response time and risk of human error. Newer concepts like robotic surgery enable specialists to perform surgeries from remote locations. Genomic studies greatly depend on supercomputing power to develop technologies for the future.

Science and Engineering: With help of developer around the globe, developing applications and software’s, science and engineering now has a better way of running and computing program instead of manually computing, which take a lot of time and errors.

Manufacturing Industries: IT has taken the lead in most manufacturing industries, making job process faster and flexible every day. With “IT”in place, computers aid in designing buildings, magazines, prints, newspapers, books and many others. The construction layouts are designed beautifully on system using different tools and software’s.
Football: Everything has being digitized, to view, every angle of the football events as it happens lives, and now we have the Goal technology to determine real scores.

Communication means to super impose a low frequency channel carrier, into a high frequency carrier envelope, so that it can travels far and be heard clear when tuned to, an idea, is a projected picture, and audio that is received and understood clearly and correctly by the person for whom it is meant for.  Without “IT” this whole scenario cannot be achieved. Some main areas in this category are: Chatting, E-mail, Usenet, FTP, Video-conferencing and Telnet, Television, and Radio communication.

Most of the work done in IT fields, entails upgrading, repairing, configuring , maintaining, optimizing, troubleshooting before you install and configure any “IT” device one needs to know the basic components that makes up a computer, alongside with the functionality of each the components

1. The system unit
This is the main component of a computer, it comprise of the following …system board, microprocessor, memory modules, disk drives adapter card, power supply, fans and other cooling systems and ports for external components such as keyboard monitors mice and other devices.

2. Display unit
This hardware component allows user to view text and graphical data output from the a computer. It connects to the system unit via a cable, varies in sizes and shapes e.g monitor , screen, LCD and the flat panel monitor.

3 Input devices
The input devices components allows user to enter data or commands into a computer. These includes:
Keyboard and computer mic, Cameras.

4 peripheral device
This enhances the functionality of any working computer, they are also called external devices and can provide either input or output alternative i.e microphone , cameras speakers scanners printers and external drives.
finally “IT”, has come to stay.
