Logging into A cisco Router

After Bringing Up a Cisco Routerthe interface status messages appear and you will simply press Return, will then trigger the router

Router> prompt to appear.
At this stage your on what is known as user mode, the user mode is mostly used to view statistics, though it is also a stepping-stone to logging into privileged
mode.




You can only view and change the configuration of a Cisco router in
privileged mode, which you enter with the command to enable the router.
 To go to privileged mode, type in the following command into your cisco router
Router>
Router>enable
Router#
You now end up the command with a Router#, which indicates you are in privileged
mode.
You can both view and change the configuration in privileged mode.
You can go back from privileged mode to user mode by using the disable
command.
 type in the following command to go back
 
Router#disable
Router>
At this point you can type logout to exit the console.
Router>logout
Router con0 is now available
Press RETURN to get started.
Or you could just type logout or exit from the privileged mode prompt to log out.
Router>en
Router#logout
Router con0 is now available
Press RETURN to get started.
